Tomb Raider Title Leaked Due to Negligent Employee on a Subway
If you’re ever curious on the proper protocols for handling confidential information, here’s a little tip: Don’t open sensitive information while on a public subway! Luckily for us, that negligence has given us a possible title for the upcoming Tomb Raider game. Take a look at this and see what quick-thinking fan, Tripleh280, posted on Reddit for our viewing pleasure:
The image is incredibly blurry, but upon zooming in you can make out the words “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Keep in mind, everything at this point in time is still speculation. Square Enix has not made any comments on this information, although it does look like fairly legitimate copy. This isn’t the first time someone let slip some pertinent information. 3 years ago, Photoacoustic posted on the Assassin’s Creed subreddit that she had spotted a woman working on a spreadsheet for marketing strategies, and that information happened to have the name and logo for the quite popular Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag.
This sort of mistake is certainly not good for an employee’s reputation. Leaking something potentially earth-shattering like this could be severely detrimental to a career. However, we can’t help but feel a little excited (and thankful) for this mystery employee’s blunder! Any sort of news at all for a future Tomb Raider game is good news, and we can only keep our hopes up for a little more info on that!
