As the PC gaming market has seen the rise of retail sites to rival Steam in recent years, these competitors have looked to free games to help promote their services. Such has been the case with Epic Games, which spent top dollar to publishers to offer free games to Epic Games Store patrons. This has paid off to the extent where the Epic Games Store now feels like a close rival to Steam. The recent Tomb Raider reboot trilogy from Square Enix proved to be a worthy reboot for Lara Croft, and now the games are the latest free gifts for Epic Games Store shoppers.

The Epic Games Store has updated the free game section of their website with the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy games front and center as the top free offerings. The 2013 Tomb Raider reboot, as well as Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, are all up for grabs on the Epic Games Store for free, as of December 30th. For those that missed it before the new year, thankfully the free offer is available until January 6th, 2022.

To get the free Tomb Raider reboot trilogy games, PC users will need to download the Epic Games Store launcher and create an Epic Games account to download the free games. These reboot games were all highly praised for their complex take on the characterization of Lara Croft, thanks in no small part to Camilla Luddington’s character voice acting and motion capture work. The games also utilized a great blend of action, adventure, and RPG elements to make a fresh take on the Tomb Raider formula. For those that missed out on these games, these are treasures worth taking.
