Philippa Eilhart

Many great television series are set to premiere or continue this year, with one of the most highly anticipated being The Witcher season 2. The series proved to be a big hit for Netflix, and while filming was delayed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic and an injury suffered by lead actor Henry Cavill, the light at the end of the cavern may finally be here. As the final episodes of the season conclude filming, new casting choices for the series, including a Downton Abbey actor, have been revealed. Now, it appears that the new season will include Philippa Eilhart as well.

Known The Witcher news leaking site Redanian Intelligence has shared the new Witcher season 2 casting news. According to the source, Cassie Clare has been cast as Philippa Eilhart in the new season of the series. Clare has worked in stage performances of Beauty & The Beast and Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, as well as television series like Ransom, The Bisexual and Brave New World. It is not known yet when Clare will appear in the new season, but given that this news comes towards the end of filming of season 2, it may not be until later in the season.

Philippa Eilhart

For those unfamiliar with the character, Philippa Eilhart is one of the most powerful sorcerers in the world of The Witcher who has the ability to turn into an owl. Her character is around 300 years old, and is also one of the more prominent LGBTQ+ characters in the entire franchise. Eilhart has been one of the biggest villains in the Witcher lore, and it’ll be great to see her in live-action facing off against Henry Cavill’s version of Geralt. Hopefully The Witcher has had enough coins tossed at him to earn an extra life. He’s going to need it.
