Telltale’s The Walking Dead Clementine Voice Actor Issues Heartfelt Statement
There have been high hopes for the continuation of The Walking Dead and the long-awaited The Wolf Among Us 2. It is unfortunate news that these series likely won’t see the ending they deserve. A surprise announcement arrived earlier this week announced major layoffs occurring in the Telltale Games office with closure to follow. That also leaves many talented developers and voice actors jobless. As the iconic voice of Clementine from Telltale’s The Walking Dead series, Melissa Hutchison issues a moving, heartfelt statement with high hopes for her esteemed colleagues.
The announcement hit everyone hard, including the invested community supporting Telltale Games and the hands and voices behind it all. Undoubtedly, it was “one of the toughest days ever” for Hutchison, but she’s “deeply moved” by the resounding messages of love and support. Her full statement is as follows:

Without a shadow of a doubt, Telltale Games offered gut-wrenching, narrative driven games that gave players the power of choice and consequences. With one of the most prominent IPs seen in The Walking Dead, where fans have invested emotionally into character development, it’s difficult to believe that these beloved ideas won’t see closure. Hopefully, there will be stakeholders and investors out there willing to put in the work to create another studio akin to Telltales. or perhaps the developers will be able to create their own group.
With the sudden layoffs, however, many of these fine folks are now jobless. Some opened up about the entire disassembly of Telltale Games on social media, speaking to the unprofessional and unethical approach the higher-ups took to see the studio’s closure.
