Sam And Max Save The World Remastered Announced (VIDEO)
There were many game development studios that fell by the wayside this past decade, but perhaps the most infamous and widely known closure was Telltale Games. The studio became a major player in the industry with their game adaptations of The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, but their rise began with the more comically-minded revival of the classic Sam and Max point-and-click adventure game series. Now, it looks like the pair of freelance police officers will see their return on Nintendo Switch and PC with the newly announced Sam and Max Save The World remaster.
Skunkape Games has released a new trailer announcing the Sam and Max Save The World remaster on their official YouTube channel. The project is a remaster of Telltale Games’s first season of the reboot now referred to as Sam and Max Save The World. For those unfamiliar, Sam and Max are an anthropomorphic dog in a suit and fedora and a hyper-kinetic rabbit that solve crimes and mysteries as “freelance police.” This collection will consist of six episodes which has the duo squaring off against a talk show host gone mad, a Chuck E. Cheese-like mafia don and the reanimated statue of Abraham Lincoln from the namesake’s memorial.
The Sam and Max Save The World remaster is being handled by Skunkape Games, which consists of several former Telltale Games developers. With the help of other former Telltale members at LCG Entertainment, which acquired the remnants of Telltale, they were able to bring back this title for a new audience to enjoy. While the game’s story and gags have been left unchanged, this new remaster will include upgraded graphics, better audio quality, controller support and more.
The remaster will be available on Nintendo Switch, Steam, and GOG starting on December 2nd. Hopefully the subsequent Telltale seasons of Sam and Max also come to these platforms in the future, so new players can take their classic DeSoto squad car for a spin.
