Death Stranding: Troy Baker’s Character Revealed In New Footage (VIDEO)

Death Stranding

After the handful of details that have been released about Death Stranding since its initial reveal, there is still much to learn about the mysterious title from Hideo Kojima and team. One of the noticeable things about the game is its star-studded cast, which features the likes of Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Guillermo del Toro, Lindsay Wagner, and more. That said, we also know some rather notable voice actors are in Death Stranding, particularly Troy Baker.

We have yet to see the character that Baker is set to play in the upcoming game, however, the Death Stranding stage show at Tokyo Game Show 2018 provided our first look at The Man in the Golden Mask. The mysterious man seen in new footage from the title has some rather interesting abilities, as they are seemingly able to control the questionable black liquid that has previously been seen in trailers. We knew a secret was in store for fans, but… take a look for yourself below:

Insane, right? As stated above, we knew Baker was attached to the project one way or another, but we didn’t have the faintest idea as to what exactly that role was. With the latest footage revealing a dark character that somehow uses the gold mask he is named for to summon giant golden-faced beasts, we are only more intrigued as to what in the world is going on in Death Stranding. Then again, that must mean Kojima has us right where he wants – in a land of the unknown.

Also revealed at the Death Stranding TGS 2018 stage show was some concept art for known characters, including yet another unknown one. The role, played by Tommie Earl Jenkins, appears to be that of someone akin to Baker’s Man in the Gold Mask. Donning a similar black mask and a suit, we can online assume they are in charge of something important. Check out the images in the gallery below:

We knew that we weren’t getting any gameplay at TGS 2018 due to the stage show being focused on the game’s Japanese cast, as Kojima clarified recently, but we didn’t expect to see this sort of awesomeness. Two new characters have entered the mysterious fray, one of which we see possesses some incredible powers, and we can’t help but want more. Of course, we will feel as such until the game inevitably launches.

Death Stranding is currently in development for the PlayStation 4, with no launch date known at this time. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
