The Last Of Us TV Series Gives First Look At Joel, Ellie And Clickers (VIDEO)
With streaming services growing more competitive as more rivals enter the industry, the major players have looked to video game franchises to prop up their services. The likes of Netflix and Amazon have been looking to game series to mine for material to adapt for television. Netflix has already had a head start with their ongoing Castlevania anime and The Witcher TV universe. HBO’s big foray into the gaming world has been known for months now to be their upcoming Last Of Us TV series. Now, HBO has finally provided a look at the series’ versions of Joel, Ellie and Clickers front and center.
NaughtyDog co-president and The Last of Us TV series writer Neil Druckmann recently appeared on the Summer Game Fest on hosted by Geoff Keighley on the fest’s official YouTube channel. Druckmann provides a variety of updates on the future of the franchise, including the remake of The Last of Us Part 1, as well as the TV series. Through this, HBO has released the first look at the new faces of Joel and Ellie, as they are played by Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. The two are seen in a photo crouching against a chest-high wall, much like the characters often do in the games to avoid enemies.

The original shared image of Joel and Ellie is fairly dark, save for the light shining on the characters’ faces. Some talented Twitter users have shared their adjusted versions of the image, showing what looms in the dark near the duo. The extra-lit photo reveals a Clicker in the background lurking in the shadows. These creatures are known for their clicking noises that sense movement, hence Joel and Ellie’s need to crouch behind cover. Filming had just recently finished on The Last of Us TV series, so hopefully post-production can go smoothly so fans can experience Joel and Ellie’s story in a brand new way. Here’s hoping they get a crossover with Succession. Kendall Roy would make a great Clicker.
