The Last Of Us Tabletop Game Announced By CMON

As video game franchises continue to grow in popularity, expansion into other forms of media continues these series’ reach. One form that games are commonly adapted is tabletop gaming, an analog version of their original digital counterparts. The past year has proven to be quite fruitful for The Last of Us series, as the long-awaited sequel became the most successful launch of a Sony game and a live-action television series for HBO was greenlit as well. Now, a new The Last of Us tabletop game has also been announced.

Last Of Us Producer
Boardgame manufacturer CMON recently announced they will be creating a new The Last of Us tabletop game. Delivering similar projects in the past, CMON has adapted such series as God of War and Bloodborne to traditional board game form for Sony. CMON’s VP of Entertainment and Head of Licensing Geoff Skinner recently had this to say about the new project:

“We are honored to have the chance to translate a modern classic of the video game industry into a unique and compelling board game experience. The Last of Us is a series that many of us at CMON have followed from its inception and we are eager to adapt the stirring character-driven player experience to tabletop, letting fans explore the world and story in a entirely new way.”

CMON has not yet revealed any images or specific details as to what the game will look like or what features it will include. Fans are expecting the game to be similar to CMON’s God of War and Bloodborne tabletop game systems, but with familiar Last Of Us elements like clickers and Molotov cocktails. Hopefully, we get some glimpses of the game soon. We could all use some distraction from the dismal infected world already around us, and this game feels like the light of a firefly.
