The digital age has brought along the concept of being able to critique anything and everything. While on many occasions sharing one’s opinion can be seen as constructive criticism or simply a personal preference, there is a line that should never be crossed and that’s when something constructive becomes no more than anger and hatred for the sake of it. While many fans have shared their dislike for The Last Of Us Part 2, some have taken to sharing their dislike in some very toxic ways.

Actor Laura Bailey recent took to social media with some disheartening details, revealing that she’s been receiving death threats having to do with her performance as Abby in The Last Of Us Part 2. Many fans have shared their disdain for Abby, though recent posts that she shared through social media reveal some disturbing threats made towards her and even her family. One post in particular shows that one user threatened to come after her child.

Thankfully, many other fans and comrades stepped in after the initial posting to share their support for Bailey and her family. Many fans even pointed out that it is important to separate the actor from the character she portrays. After the initial post one abuser even retracted their claims and apologized for their actions. It is nice to see the community come together to bring a positive response flowing with support for Bailey, especially after such heinous comments.

The Last Of Us Part 2 is currently available as a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
