The Division 2 Director Is Gauging Interest For A Single Player Spin-Off
The Division 2 has been steadily churning out new content since the game released earlier this year, with Ubisoft committed to producing more raids like Operation Dark Hours, which released back in May. While many have been more than happy to soak up all there is to enjoy in the multiplayer looter shooter, others have begun to express their desire for a single player story that takes place in the same universe, which has prompted an interesting response from Ubisoft.
The Division 2 player Tim Spencer recently sent a tweet to the game’s creative creative director, Julian Gerighty, suggesting that a single player story that follows an agent trying to get home to their family would be an idea worth pursuing. This prompted a small but pointed response from Gerighty, which can be seen below:

As one could probably guess, the responses to the tweet ranged from “yes” to “hell yes,” and everything in between. While many would assume that that conversation would be the end of it, Julian Gerighty sent out one more tweet where he acknowledged the wishes of the fans.
Apparently not something people are violently against 🙂

The prospect of a single player story within the same universe as The Division games is certainly an interesting one, made all the more tangible by the upcoming movie adaptation. Here’s hoping Ubisoft decides to run with the idea, as there is certainly still a market for single player games.
The Division 2 is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
