Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Cosplayer Puts a Unique Spin on King K. Rool
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is more than keeping fans occupied over a month after release, and players have been responding in kind with their fandom expressed in creative ways. Social media has been flooded with various memes and screenshots of custom Mii fighters and hilarious poses of Super Smash brawlers since the game launched.
Outside of the game, one of the most tried and true ways to celebrate Nintendo characters is cosplay. From the new title, easily one of the more celebrated fighters is King K. Rool, and one Super Smash Bros. Ultimate cosplayer has chosen to represent this character in a unique way.

Cosplayer Eli Romeo Casanova Pompadour, otherwise known on his official Instagram account as hardboiledpompadour, recently began posting photos of his creative cosplay. For those unaware, Eli often sports his brand-reflecting pompadour hairstyle for cosplays of characters not usually having a pompadour, such as Lando Calrissian or Josuke Higashikata. True to form, Eli decided to cosplay the new beloved Smash Bros. fighter with his iconic hairstyle.

Paired with a big-bellied bodysuit, cape and crown, Eli’s pompadour seems like it was almost made to nest the King’s royal headgear atop it. The costume gained even more attention for Eli when he posted photos with other Smash Bros. Ultimate cosplayers, including a King Dedede cosplayer. This unique cosplay is pretty slick, and perfectly encapsulates Eli’s personal style. Hopefully we get to see the cosplay more at other cons in the future. It would only help others get in the Spirit.
