Stardew Valley Is Getting An Official Board Game
Stardew Valley is a relaxing simulator, sending players to a calming village where they farm, fish, gather resources, and more. The game was originally a single player experience that eventually grew to officially support multiplayer as well. Now, fans will be able to take the video game into a new platform altogether, allowing players to take on all the fun in a tabletop format.
A recent Tweet from Eric Barone, better known as ConcernedApe reveals the arrival of Stardew Valley: The Board Game, a project that’s been in the works for 2 years now. A post further details that the game will be playable with 1 to 4 players as they take on the task of trying to protect the Valley itself from the Joja Corporation’s grasp. To do this they’ll need to complete Grandpa’s Goals, a randomly generated set of goals that will help keep the game fresh with each playthrough. While it might be simple on the surface, Barone warns that there is a level of complexity and depth that will be present in the game that will hopefully be enough to capture the essence of the title that it was born from. With multiple decks of cards, tokens for various resources, and round by round gameplay, the title is going to be a challenge to master but infinitely repayable alone or with friends.
