Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Teaser Reveals Fallen Order Sequel (VIDEO)
While there hasn’t been a theatrical Star Wars film in two and a half years now, fans of the franchise are not hurting for new stories from their favorite universe any time soon. This week marks the latest Star Wars Celebration convention in Anaheim, which conveniently also falls in the same weekend as the premiere of the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus. On the video game front, fans have been eager to hear about the long-teased sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Well, at long last a reprieve has come, as the first Star Wars Jedi: Survivor teaser has been revealed.
EA has released the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor teaser trailer on their official YouTube account for their Star Wars games, after having made its debut at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim this week. The trailer begins with a view of the Stinger Mantis cockpit, with the ship having crash-landed on a desert planet. Narration throughout the trailer is provided by an antagonistic Imperial senator of the Utapauan species seen in Revenge of the Sith. Their narration directly asks protagonist Cal Kestis what he will do next, and why he persists in his fight against the Empire, even in overwhelming odds. The game is confirmed to take place five years after the events of Fallen Order, with none of Kestis’s allies seen besides BD-1. It is not yet known what happened to the other characters, though the game might explore those stories.
In the Survivor teaser, Kestis is seen fighting a red lightsaber-wielding baddie, likely another Inquisitor. Though it seems that this encounter does not bode well, as Kestis’s lightsaber is lost during the battle and later seen delivered to the Imperial senator. Kestis is seen throughout the rest of the trailer without his lightsaber and coming across a mysterious silver-haired figure in a bacta tank, whose form had been teased throughout the teaser. The Star Wars Jedi: Survivor title is then shown, with a 2023 release window revealed shortly after. At long last, fans can stop waiting for an announcement, and can transition into waiting for the sequel that they know is coming. Here’s hoping they can parry those anxious thoughts until then and take a healthy stim pack in the form of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga while they wait.
