Star Wars Celebration 2018 is Not Happening – Next One to Take Place in 2019
One of the biggest signs of the strength of the Star Wars fandom community in recent years has been the Star Wars Celebration conventions, which began in tandem with the release of the prequel Star Wars films. These conventions have been the largest gatherings dedicated to fandom of the universe that George Lucas created. Fans are looking forward to Celebration 2017 in Orlando this year, where the recent tradition for Lucasfilm to make new announcements regarding Star Wars projects across different media, such as upcoming Star Wars video games and the much-theorized premiere of a trailer for the next Star Wars film, is expected to be repeated. However, this year may be bittersweet to some, as news now of there not being a Star Wars Celebration 2018 is coming to light.
A new announcement has been made on the official Star Wars Celebration website that has announced that the next Star Wars Celebration event will not occur until 2019, which means that there will not be a Star Wars Celebration 2018. The location and date for this next Celebration is not available yet, but it could be reasonable to expect the 2019 event to take place roughly around the same April dates and Orlando or Anaheim locations that the most recent U.S. events have taken place in.
This year’s Celebration will feature special guests, including cast members from previous Star Wars films and the Star Wars Rebels TV series, as well as panels related to upcoming Star Wars video games, Star Wars Rebels episodes and The Last Jedi film arriving this year.
