Star Wars Battlefront II Players Are Receiving Free Crates From DICE As An Apology
The latest Star Wars title from EA DICE has had a fair amount of trouble since its launch in November. While the game features a solid single-player campaign and an expansive multiplayer experience, an incredible amount of criticism has been leveled at the developer for their loot crate system. As EA considers re-instating their controversial transaction system, the developers are giving away free crates to Battlefront II players for enduring the trouble.
It has been noted by some fans of the game that upon logging into the game, they received a notice from the developer. The statement notes that the company has deployed fixes and offers credits and other items for the inconvenience. The free crates that Battlefront II players are receiving include 4,000 credits and four Star Cards that are randomized.
It is unclear if all Battlefront II players are getting the free crates at this time. However, given the rocky start many endured, it would make sense that this is a gift for all to enjoy. Whether or not some credits and cards can make up for the trouble is up to gamers, but EA will likely remain on the fence a while longer about their microtransaction system.
Free Battlefront II crates aren’t all that’s happening in the Star Wars game. Fans are also pushing for a Conquest Mode that was popular in previous titles. This hasn’t been confirmed, but DICE is working hard on new content for the game. In time, EA will likely have more announcements regarding new features.
