Fans were teased with a recent story trailer for Star Wars Battlefront 2 campaign mode. The video featured Iden Versio taking on missions in the single-player campaign. Some fans may be curious just how much time they’ll get in the story, and a recent interview has revealed that it may not be as long as some fans hoped.

David Robillard, the studio producer at Motive Studios, gave a rough idea of how long the Battlefront 2 campaign would take. Given that some players are more interested in exploration than others, it makes sense that the times may vary. Here is what Robillard had to say about the length of the story:

 …we thought that around 5-7, maybe 8 hours is probably a good amount of time…we wanted to stay very driven towards the Star Wars fantasy that the players are going to experience and not have it be drawn out.”

While some may find this considerable short and potentially not worth their time, it is certainly offset by the amount of content and features coming to the multiplayer mode. This function being what the game is best known for, it makes sense that the Battlefront 2 campaign may not hit a mark like 20 hours that some fans were hoping for. This is also a pretty standard campaign time for FPS games, but from what we’ve seen so far? The story is worth it. DFTG got their hands on a story demo and it was definitely well taken care of. The narrative was fleshed out and had a fantastic lead into its conclusion.

Ultimately the Battlefront 2 campaign mode is said to deliver well cared for quality and a peek into the universe that fans haven’t had yet. When asked about story DLC content Robillard noted that it would depend on the reception of the story itself. Focusing on content fans want has been the biggest concern with this game, and it isn’t like that the company will shift gears to appease a few.
