Resident Evil 2 Board Game Exceeds $860K Kickstarter Stretch Goals – New Character Added

The Kickstarter for the Resident Evil 2 the board game continues to gain traction in popularity. In fact, it has garnered so much attention and pledges, developer Steamforged Games, Ltd. have successfully met all their stretch goals of a whopping 650,000 GBP / 860,000 USD and more. To thank pledge-makers for creating such a successful crowdfunding campaign, Steamforged announced their stretch goal has unlocked RPD (Raccoon City Police Department) Chief Brian Irons as a playable character.

William Birkin isn’t far from the horizon either. At this moment, their Kickstarter has already surpassed even that. If you’re a fan of the Resident Evil franchise and especially of the second game, there are still pledges left of 70 GBP / 94 USD that will get pledge-makers everything depicted in the image below and likely more as the campaign continues to exceed expectations.

Resident Evil™ 2: The Board Game is a co-operative survival horror game for 1-4 players set in the Resident Evil™ universe. Players choose from a number of familiar characters before venturing into the zombie-infested streets and buildings of Raccoon City in a desperate fight to escape the nightmare!

Designed specifically for the Resident Evil™ universe from the ground up, this game brings the thrills—and the dangers!—of the setting to the tabletop. World-class miniatures and innovative new mechanics help deliver an experience that captures the essence of the much-loved original video games while offering new twists and turns.

There’s just a little over 2 days left for curious tabletop players to back the project and there are only 4 unlocked characters left before every single stretch goal is met. From the looks of it, that’s a lot of content given the amount of money pledged for a unit.
