Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Logo Revealed, Jason Momoa Reportedly Sought For Knuckles Role
With Hollywood resuming its productions after delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these continuing projects include major video game adaptations into film. The Mortal Kombat live-action movie reboot is set to release this April and an animated Super Mario movie is also in the works. After the lucky success of the first Sonic the Hedgehog film right before lockdowns occurred, Paramount has been quick to fast track a sequel for release in 2022. The first movie teased the inclusion of Tails in the sequel, which has now been reflected in the newly revealed Sonic the Hedgehog 2 logo, and another legacy character inclusion may bring in a big Hollywood name for the project.

Paramount Pictures and Sega revealed the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 logo on the official Sonic Twitter account recently. The logo is essentially the same as the logo for the first Sonic film, with the new logo including the number 2, with its outline being colored yellow, as opposed to the rest of the logo being blue. This, along with the addition of dual yellow tails on the 2 indicate Tails’ important role in the sequel. The tweet also acknowledges the simplicity of this title and it being essentially what everyone expected it to be.
Along with this official reveal, The Illuminerdi has reported from sources close to the project that not only will Knuckles the Echidna be in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, but that Paramount wants none other than Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa, for the role. The sources state that the offer has been presented to Momoa, who simply needs to accept the offer to begin the voice over work for the project. Filming for the movie is set to begin soon, but considering this would be a voice role, Momoa would not necessarily need to accept right away. Hopefully he does accept though so we can have fan dubs that have Knuckles speaking Dothraki one day.
