Sonic The Hedgehog Movie Announces Official 2019 Release Date

Just like many other icons, the blue blur has a soft spot in most people’s hearts and the franchise is still going strong today. With the comic series now taken over by IDW Publishing and the video games still owned and operated by Sega, there’s about to be a new collaboration for a film. A Sonic the Hedgehog movie was announced last year, promising a live-action mixed with CGI film to bring this nostalgic icon to life. I Am Legend (2007) and Deadpool (2016) director, Tim Miller, will be at the helm. What an unlikely, but hopefully fruitful pair.

Sonic the Hedgehog movie is set for a Fall 2019 release date on November 15th. Other hands on deck include, producer Neal H. Moritz of the Fast and Furious franchise, while Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons will be co-producers alongside executive producer Toby Ascher. Who knew this fella would become so far-reaching since the days of Sega Genesis?

Sonic the Hedgehog

In other Sonic the Hedgehog news, which there are plenty of, a tabletop game recently launched on Kickstarter called Battle Racers. A new game was teased by former head of franchise, and the icon teamed up with Hooters during the 2017 Tokyo Game Show to bring hot babes and good food. The blue blur is making comeback like no other and in rather unorthodox ways sometimes.

What do you think of a Sonic the Hedgehog movie? Is this something the world needs more of or would you rather have a good, functional video game title?
