Skull & Bones Release Window Set As Ubisoft Schedules Future Lineup

Skull & Bones

Skull & Bones was revealed all the way back in 2017, though, at this point players have begun to question whether or not it’ll ever come out. With the similar title, Sea of Thieves released in 2018 and growing into an incredible ship-based adventure, the former title inspired by Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag’s naval combat is still somewhere within development phases. Thankfully, it seems the title is still in the works, and now fans have a bit more of a timeframe as to when they can expect to see the upcoming naval action-adventure.

The update comes from a recent Ubisoft financial report (H/T Game Informer), revealing a few interesting things of note such as release windows for a variety of titles in the works. The report shown to investors reveals titles such as Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Quarantine, Roller Champions, and The Division Heartland are all set to appear within a window between now and March 31st, 2022. The same goes for Skull & Bones, with Ubisoft looking at a window somewhere between April 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023, under the assumption that development is smooth sailing for each project.

Skull & Bones

It’s a bit disappointing to hear that there will be more waiting for the more gritty and realistic style of naval combat seen in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. It’s been a long road since the game was first announced, with the past four years presenting repeated delays in addition to a proposed television show. Hopefully, fans will at least get a new trailer or something sooner rather than later to help sate the curiosity a bit and see how far the developers have come to this point.

Skull & Bones was originally planned for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, though, whether or not the continued delays will also lead to a release onto next-gen platforms remains to be seen.
