Shenmue 1 & 2 HD Re-Releases Announced For PC, PS4, And Xbox One (VIDEO)
Shenmue 1 & 2 HD re-releases have officially been announced for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Announced by Sega today in a press release, the publisher was light on what graphical enhancements to expect from the long-anticipated HD versions of the game, though it said it would be the “definitive version” of each game. Check out the official announce trailer below:
According to Sega the PS4 and Xbox One version of the Shenmue 1 & 2 HD re-releases will be available both digitally and through retail stores, while the PC version will be released through Steam. The new PC versions of the games will feature “fully scalable screen resolutions,” as well as graphics options and an updated UI. Players will additionally be able to choose between modern or classic controls, as well as original Japanese or English voice-overs.
In related news, development on Shenmue III is still going strong, and earlier this year Sega released a batch of new screenshots for the PC and PS4 versions of the game, which can be seen here. Shenmue III stands to be a hugely dramatic increase in graphics and gameplay over its predecessors, though fans of the series will likely still be more than happy to get their hands on the upcoming HD versions of the games when they release later this year.
