Sea Of Thieves Devs Promise That More Content Is On The Way
Sea of Thieves set sail on some rough seas at launch with a very mixed bag reception taking a dip for the worst. While the game offers a lot of freedom in choosing how to experience the game, unfortunately the amount of content available just isn’t up to a level that fans expected to be in a AAA title. The developers previously mentioned bringing in new pirate content in the near future, thought they have been sidetracked with a few server hiccups post-launch. Now it looks like they are ready to get back on track.
Currently, Rare’s main focus is on the rise in hacking seen within the game. Additionally, the team is well aware of what player are asking for and have goals in mind to give everyone an enjoyable experience. With little else to do aside from completing fetch quests and griefing their way to becoming a pirate legends, players want to know what else is in store to keep them occupied when traversing the gorgeous Sea of Thieves. Rare LTD recently took to their site’s forums to give an update on where they are and plan to go post-launch.
We hear the content question and understand why people are keen to see how we plan to move Sea of Thieves forward. Planning is ongoing on the next set of priorities right now, and we are adjusting our existing plans based on the feedback we’ve been seeing. We will have more to share on this soon.”
“Adjusting our existing plans” sure sounds an awful lot like possibly introducing new features earlier than expected. Hopefully one of the weekly developer updates will have more information on this. The post also detailed some of the things player can hope to see coming over the next few months, many of which have been discussed previously. Live Events, ship ownership, private crews, pets, more instruments, and even hostile mermaids will surely give fans plenty to do. They’ve even mentioned adding in new mechanics such as fishing, which could be highly enjoyable.
What kind of pirate content would you like to see in Sea of Thieves? Perhaps whaling, a unique mini-game, maybe even some story elements or mysteries would make the game infinitely more fun.
