Rocket League Players Launch Petition For Elon Musk’s Cybertruck
Elon Musk recently took the Internet by storm with the unveiling of his new, futuristic-appearing vehicle, the Cybertruck. However, the vehicle did not perhaps receive the exact spectrum of reactions Musk expected, as the automobile became the fodder of internet memelords and trolls across social media. Even CD Projekt Red got in on the action by tweeting at Elon Musk with their Cyberpunk Twitter account about the unveiling. Elon Musk is well known for his fandom of nerdy favorites, having recently appeared on Rick and Morty, and now fans have created a Cybertruck petition to see the vehicle in Rocket League.
As reported on Prima Games, a fan-made petition by Nikki Luzader has expressed desire to see the Cybertruck become a car in hit multiplayer game Rocket League. Despite tapping into the meme status of the vehicle, Luzader actually seems to have some altruistic intentions for putting the Cybertruck in the game, as the petition description states:
Now my fellow gamers, we must fight for what is most undoubtedly meant for us to play with, because lets face it, most of us will never be able to afford one. Please sign this petition and fight to put it in the hands of the man with the plan himself. He will do it for us. He will do it for the memes. He will do it because he is the one and only: Elon Musk.”
As of writing, the petition met its initial goal of 2,500 e-signatures, and is now seeking to amass 5,000 e-signatures. Many memes have suggested that the Cybertruck looks like it came from a video game, and its sleek design would make it perfect for bouncing balls in Rocket League. Let’s hope Psyonix doesn’t think that Elon Musk’s creation is out of their league.
