PlayStation State Of Play Coming This Week, Here’s How To Watch

PlayStation State of Play

While many of the biggest video game company announcements have recently been done through digital presentations, much news has been revealed through such presentations this year. With another digitally-based E3 held as of late, some of the most prominent companies in gaming like Microsoft and Nintendo held major online presentations during the week. However, noticeably absent during the event for yet another year was Sony, which opted to stay separate from other companies and utilize its PlayStation State of Play digital presentations instead. Now, it has been confirmed that a PlayStation State of Play summer presentation is indeed coming later this week.

Sony has already prepared a listing for the summer’s PlayStation State of Play digital event on their official PlayStation YouTube channel. The listing shows that the State of Play is set to be broadcast on Thursday, July 8th at 2:00 pm Pacific Time. The description for the event confirms some of the contents that fans can expect to see when it premieres. Among the confirmed content airing during the upcoming PlayStation State of Play event, nine minutes of Deathloop gameplay will be there, as well as twenty minutes of updates for various third-party games of both indie and larger status’.

Sony also states that Horizon Forbidden West and the God of War sequel — that may or may not ever have Ragnarok in its name — will not have updates included in the presentation. Those hoping for an announcement of new PlayStation VR hardware will also have to keep waiting, as that is also confirmed not to happen this week. It is possible that Sony might have another announcement up its sleeve, but given the other major companies’ fairly minimal updates at E3 this year, the same seems likely for Sony. Still, having some updates to look forward to this week should hopefully delight Sony fans looking towards the future.
