Resident Evil Village Included Fan Favorite Character At One Point

Resident Evil Village Ada Wong Concept Art

After a few weeks of marketing galore and demos that were swindled into giving players more time, Resident Evil Village has officially arrived. Players are diving in to see what Lady D and her daughters are all about, but the release of the game means that there is also some new content that has arrived in various editions of the game. This includes some concept art that reveals a fan favorite character who was originally going to be in the game.

WARNING: While the information below is not exactly a spoiler for Resident Evil Village, do not read any further if you don’t want to know which fan favorite character will not be appearing in the game. Maybe go check out this mod that turns baddies into Barney? If you do want to know, however, proceed.

Thanks to the Trauma Pack DLC for Resident Evil Village (via IGN), fans get a good look at some early concept art for the newly released game. A few pieces of said art show off a mysterious plague doctor, who was originally going to save Ethan, according to the caption. As it turns out, this mysterious doctor was going to be none other than Ada Wong.

“This was going to be Ada Wong investigating the village, but this was cut due to a number of conflicting scenarios,” reads the caption. In another concept art piece, it was mentioned how Ada was originally going to help Ethan escape from his trial. Here’s to hoping gothic Ada does not remain in concept art for Resident Evil Village, but finds her way to a game in the future.
