Resident Evil 2 Live-Action Trailer Is The Perfect George Romero Tribute (VIDEO)

Resident Evil 2 Live-Action Trailer

We are in the final hours before the launch of Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 “remake,” and fans couldn’t possibly be more excited. The title is racking up the positive scores in reviews (you can find ours right here), and the 1-shot demo saw quite a bit of traffic.

That said, a live-action trailer has been released to commemorate the release of Resident Evil 2, and it does a wonderful job paying tribute to George A. Romero himself. For those of you who don’t know, Romero created a trailer for the original 1998 horror game, which saw Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield teaming up before taking on hordes of the undead. Check out the original trailer below:

It has been 21 years since the release of that trailer, and now the development team has put together quite a beautiful remake of it that pays tribute to Romero. Check that out below:

That’s pretty great, if we do say so ourselves. Not only does the new live-action trailer pay homage to Romero, but it also shows that Capcom has definitely not forgotten the title’s roots. That much will certainly be evident once everyone gets their hands on it. DFTG’s own Ryan had this to say about the title in his review:

“Overall, the Resident Evil 2 Remake does what it set out to do: deliver a phenomenal gameplay experience that pays tribute to the original game without being mechanically shackled by it. With the promise of new game modes on the way and the title’s overall replayability thanks to the various different playable scenarios, Resident Evil veterans and newcomers alike will find their stay in Raccoon City extremely enjoyable, and Capcom has undoubtedly set the bar for future remakes.”

Resident Evil 2 is set to arrive on January 25th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
