Hilarious Reaper Easter Egg Hidden Away In Destiny 2’s Iron Banner Event (VIDEO)
Get ready to die, die, die in Destiny 2’s Iron Banner event as the festivities are now in full swing for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users. With Lord Saladin making commentary on player moves during competitive matches, there are some hilarious witticisms that the character shouts out in “support” of the PvP event. Turns out Saladin could easily be a Reaper main in the popular FPS from Blizzard, Overwatch. One player managed to record the Blizzard nod during the “We Ran Out Of Medals” challenge – here’s the sneaky little reference in his video below:
The Overwatch nod occurs around the 15 second mark where Saladin can be heard saying,
“DIE, DIE, DIE… (coughs) Sorry. I’ve been watching too many Iron Banner matches. What time is it? Shaxx? Shaxx, are you there? Can you get me a water? Stop yelling, it’s just a question!”
For those that may not know, Lord Saladin is voiced by the same actor that is behind Reaper’s iconic gruff, which makes this cross-over by Keith Ferguson even better when knowing that he’s fully immersed in both worlds. That’s not the only place in Destiny 2 where the worlds between Destiny and Overwatch intertwine – Soldier 76’s actor also voices the ever illusive Xur merchant. In addition to the “we’re all soldiers now” hero, Calus wants to “be your shield!” in his spare time, as he voices Reinhardt from the popular Blizzard shooter.
