Dragon Ball FighterZ Teases Universe 11 Character Reveal
It’s been a while since the reveal of a new Dragon Ball FighterZ character, the last being the park-ranging champ of the universe known as Android 17. As we’re currently over three months removed from that exciting addition, it was thought that Bandai Namco and Arc System Works were perhaps finished with new content for the vibrant fighting title. Luckily for fans, it turns out this is not the case.
In a recent post to Twitter, Bandai Namco teased the reveal of a new Dragon Ball FighterZ DLC, one that would introduce an unnamed new contender “from Universe 11.” Not much was announced beyond this tidbit, but a full reveal of the mysterious new fighter was scheduled to take place during the game’s World Tour Finals between January 26th and 27th.

The tease of a “warrior from Universe 11” might be a telling indication of who might be next for the FighterZ roster. In the Dragon Ball Super’s Universe Survival arc, the multiversal Tournament of Power introduced fans to the most formidable fighters of Universe 11, namely the elite force of justice called the Pride Troopers. The formidable red-clad clan were one to give Goku and the rest of Universe 7 a battle to remember, most notably the character of Jiren, who alone established himself as one of the strongest beings in existence, let alone the tournament.
If someone from Universe 11 is indeed debuting their likeness in Dragon Ball FighterZ, the most likely candidate would almost surely be Jiren. However, that assumption is still only speculation at the end of the day, as FighterZ hasn’t officially confirmed nor denied the character’s inclusion as of yet. We’ll only know whether the stoic gray fighter will be added to DBFZ following the planned World Tour Finals announcement later this month.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
What do you think? Are you excited about the potential unveiling of Jiren in Dragon Ball FighterZ, or do you feel another character is being overlooked? Could this mean Ultra Instinct Goku could on the way as well?
