Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Steel Wave Details Revealed (VIDEO)
Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Steel Wave details are now live. While the release date has not been revealed quite yet, Ubisoft isn’t shy about showing off all the hard work and details that went into the upcoming DLC. With any new expansion to R6, there are two new operators to shine the spotlight on too. Check out the gameplay trailer below for more information:
Ace is a brand new attacker coming to Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Steel Wave. He’s a NIGHTHAVEN recruit who is as showy as he is a skilled professional. “The natural resting point for the center of attention, Specialist Håvard ‘Ace’ Haugland is never more than a smile away from a perfect on-camera appearance,” reads a brief overview of the new attacker. “Nevertheless, his dedication to search-and-rescue operations worldwide, and his long and well-publicized list of personal accomplishments, are a source of inspiration for many.”
Ace features AK-12 and M1014 as his primary weapons with a P9 secondary. He has a breach charge and smoke grenade to make use of as well. In terms of unique abilities, he comes equipped with the SELMA Aqua Breacher that utilizes hydraulic pressure to bust through breakable walls and surfaces.
Thandiwe “Melusi” Ndlovu on the other hand is the more disciplined one between the two and embraces responsibility with conviction. “There is no shortage of wars to be fought in this world, but Specialist Thandiwe ‘Melusi’ Ndlovu has picked one of the most vital,” reads the overview for the latest defender. “Conservation is an underappreciated art form, combining tireless vigilance and hair-trigger reflexes. It asks much of its proponents and, in turn, Ndlovu deliver”
Melusi features the T-5 SMG and Super 90 as primary weapons and an RG15 as her secondary. Her gadgets include an impact grenade and deployable shield. In terms of unique abilities, the new defender comes equipped with a Banshee Sonic Defense that alerts Melusi and anyone on her team of oncoming enemies with a loud buzzing sound. It slows enemies as well and only increases in strength the closer enemies are in proximity. To say it’ll become a nuisance in gameplay would be an understatement, and it’ll be an even greater challenge to overcome when combined with other defender gadgets. Nice.
