PS5 One Of The Most “Revolutionary Consoles Ever Designed,” Says Developer
Although the PlayStation 5 is still for the most part shrouded in mystery, Sony has begun to peel back the curtain and speak about its next-gen console. Yesterday, Sony’s GDC-planned presentation revealed some of the PS5’s system specs and some rather confusing backwards compatibility features. Now that the dust has begun to settle on Mark Cerny’s presentation, a game developer has come forward to state that the PS5 is one of the “most revolutionary consoles ever designed.”
Ready at Dawn founder Andrea Pessino recently took to Twitter to discuss the highly anticipated PS5 and why it’s worth a developer’s time to commit to it. According to Pessino, gamers and critics alike will “feel silly” for comparing teraflops and comparing “similarly misunderstood specs.” Given that Pessino has likely had some time with the PS5 the statement isn’t a particularly hot take, and is more of a suggestion that Sony’s plans will line up once more about the console is made known. Here’s the full tweet:
Dollar bet: within a year from its launch gamers will fully appreciate that the PlayStation 5 is one of the most revolutionary, inspired home consoles ever designed, and will feel silly for having spent energy arguing about “teraflops” and other similarly misunderstood specs. ?

Some gamers have naturally begun to suggest that Pessino’s statement was meant as a form of damage control following what many are considering to be a failed presentation by Sony. Then again, many of these same folks were upset that the PS5 didn’t get a full reveal yesterday despite the fact that Sony was decidedly forthcoming with what the presentation would entail. Here’s hoping Sony will offer a full reveal of the PS5 sooner rather than later so hype for the console doesn’t peter out.
