Project Athia Square Enix Game Revealed For PS5 (VIDEO)

With the long anticipated PlayStation 5 game reveal having finally happened, Final Fantasy publisher Square Enix brought a brand new title to the show under the name Project Athia. Revealed in a sweeping cinematic trailer, the title is now in development by Luminous Productions, the folks behind Final Fantasy XV.

Square Enix used today’s PS5 game reveal event to debut Project Athia. The 80-second trailer gives us a blend of gameplay and cinematics, showing off a massive, beautiful world with captioning that suggests that our protagonist – who may or may not be named Athia – does not belong there. Check it out below:

“Project Athia is the culmination of Luminous Productions’ philosophy to create a completely new and fresh gaming experiences that fuses together the latest technologies with art,” the video’s description reads. “With the PlayStation 5, their vision truly comes to life, and with Project Athia you can look forward to being transported to a vast and detailed world filled with beauty and dismay.”

The trailer itself doesn’t give away too much, though it appears that there will be at least some platforming involved. The character also appears to be somewhat controlling nature, which looks absolutely splendid on the PS5. Here’s hoping we won’t have to wait too long before Square Enix tells us more!

Square Enix’s Project Athia is now in development for the PlayStation 5.
