Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Trailer Reveals Release Date (VIDEO)
Few video game franchises around today have been able to maintain as consistent a hold on popular culture quite like Pokemon. The perennial franchise has been able to last in the zeitgeist thanks to its pattern of releasing new video games set in new regions that introduce new creatures to the franchise’s catalog. A teaser earlier this year announced the latest of these generational additions to the franchise with the announcement of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Now, a new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer has been released that showcases new elements from the games, including the two new Legendary Pokemon.
The Pokemon Company has released the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer on their official YouTube channel. The trailer shows better looks at classic Pokemon elements made new in this game, including the two new professors Sada and Turo. The full 3D looks of the previously revealed new starter Pokemon are also shown for Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly. The trailer also shows what would be implied to be co-operative play for up to four players, with each of the four player characters showing a variety of personalization options for their avatars. The new region and its variety of climates is also on display, as well as a few new common Pokemon like an adorable pig-like Pokemon named Lechonk.
Other classic Pokemon elements including trading, catching and battles with other Pokemon and trainers are seen, now with their modern graphical updates. The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer ends with a cinematic sequence showing a mysterious rocky island in the new region, atop which the two new Legendary Pokemon are revealed. Koraidon and Miraidon are serpentine-like Legendaries, which adorn the covers of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, respectively. It is then confirmed that both games will launch worldwide on November 18th later this year, with digital pre-orders available now on the Nintendo eShop. Looks like once again, it’s time to catch ’em all.
