Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day Event is Live – Pink Pokemon and Candy Galore!
The Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day event is now live. It began on February 8, with an announcement from the team at Niantic, and the event will last until 11am PST on February 15th, 2017. To celebrate the commercialized holiday for lovers, it is all about candy and pink Pokemon! Throughout the duration of the event, players will earn double the Candy with each catch, hatch, and transfer. ‘Buddy Pokemon’ will be able to find Candy two times faster, as well.
Encounters with pink Pokemon will be more common. Players will also notice that Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Smoochum have a higher chance of hatching from eggs. Additionally, lures will have a longer effective time of 6 hours, instead of 30 minutes, during the entirety of the Pokemon Go Valentine’s Day event. Alakaz-damn, that’s a long time! Longer lasting Lure Modules mean less effort needed to be the best Pokemon Trainer you can be! Who says exercise was needed?
Despite the hype for the mobile game dying down, there’s still plenty of Trainers going at it! Since the launch in July of 2016, Niantic has partnered up with Sprint and Starbucks. That’s over 5,500 locations for coffee obsessed players to loiter! Also, if you haven’t heard, there’s even an Apple Watch app.
Recently, Android and iOS received update versions 0.55.0 and 1.25.0, respectively. These updates were provided to reduce starting load times, text fixes, and connectivity issues. There’s even an integrated iOS wheelchair support for Apple Watch users. Amid rolling out patches, holiday events, and partnerships – Niantic has sure been busy!
So, Trainers, will you be participating in the Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day event? Are you stoked for 6 hour lures?
