Pokémon Go Partners up with Sprint and Starbucks this Month!

Last week, Pokémon Go partnered up with Sprint to bring new experiences for players around the United States. It will be in collaboration with physical Boost Mobile, Sprint, and Radioshack stores. They will all become PokéStops and gyms. There will even be charging stations available at Sprint locations! Wow, talk about putting players and customers first! Obviously, Niantic is aware of battery drain issues with the game. It just comes with the territory. We’ve also learned that they will now be partnering up with Starbucks to keep that energy level up!

Even though news of this was leaked not long ago, CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Niantic and company officially announced their partnership with Starbucks earlier today. In an official press release, it states:

Starbucks has a long-standing commitment to providing spaces for social interaction and real-world community building in its extensive network of locations. We appreciate their role in creating safe, welcoming locations for people from all walks of life to come together for refreshment and social engagement.

The entire plan was initiated today at 11 AM (Pacific Standard Time). That means 7,800 Starbucks stores in the United States will become Pokemon Go pit stops. Not only as a place for social gatherings, gym battles, and PokéStops, but to replenish your energy as well! To commemorate the union, they have created the Pokémon GO Frappucino. It is a “vanilla bean base blended with raspberry syrup, freeze-dried blackberries, and topped with whipped cream.”

There is even more reason for people to gather around Starbucks, not that there isn’t enough already – especially in Seattle. While the largest complaint about Starbucks blends is the very burnt taste as a result of the roasting processes they use, they certainly have a positive impact on the community within the United States. As the above Niantic press release mentioned, Starbucks represents a positive and inclusive culture. Coffee and Pokémon? Well, why not?

What do YOU think about this partnership? Do you think it’s silly, or is it a good idea? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below! We would love to hear from you!
