PlayStation 5 Pre-Orders Officially Going Live On September 17
Today’s PlayStation 5 showcase event was a massive success, with Sony showing off plenty of newly announced titles alongside a few updates to previously revealed games. One of the most exciting aspects of today happened once the event concluded, though, as it’s been revealed that PlayStation 5 pre-orders will officially be going on September 17th, tomorrow.
Gaming industry figure Geoff Keighley recently took to Twitter to announce that pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 will be kicking off tomorrow, September 17th. According to Keighley, the news came straight from Sony, with Keighley issuing a follow-up tweet re-confirming that tomorrow is in fact the big day.

As for when the pre-orders will go live, it’s currently anybody’s guess. Geoff Keighley says he will update the Twitter thread once he learns more on the timing, though some folks are reporting that box stores like GameStop will begin taking pre-orders once their stores open tomorrow
All this pre-order news comes to us mere minutes following the reveal that the standard PlayStation 5 will run for $499, while the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will also be available for $399. Both consoles will officially be releasing on November 12th, initially, with a global release set for November 19th.
