During the PlayStation 5 Showcase event, Sony finally revealed the news fans have been eagerly waiting for – the release date of the next generation console. After Microsoft shined a spotlight on the Xbox Series X and S, it was their turn to take the wheel.  Bundling a few memorable experiences during the reign of the PS4, Sony showcased the PlayStation Plus Collection – a bundle of games meant to highlight some of the greatest the generation had to offer. Check out the trailer below:

In addition to exciting new trailers for games like Resident Evil Village, the console-exclusive Final Fantasy XVI, and the Demon’s Souls remake, Sony wanted to pay tribute to the fantastic experiences that the PS4 had and currently has to offer. Enjoy the likes of Detroit Become Human, The Last Guardian, Battlefield 1, Batman Arkham Knights and more as soon as the PlayStation 5 launches. This is a bonus feature that’s available for all PlayStation Plus subscribers. There’s no need for additional purchases – just download and enjoy.

The PlayStation Plus Collection will be available the same day the PS5 launches on November 12th. For more information on the next-generation pricing, check out the details here.

Personally speaking, despite being touted as a “selection of generation defining PS4 games,” Sony  left out a few noteworthy titles of the generation like Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider-Man, and Shadow of the Colossus. Here’s to hoping they add a few more after the PS5 hits the market however!
