Overwatch Winter Wonderland Event Returns Next Week

Overwatch Winter Wonderland

The holiday season is in full swing, which means video games will begin to feature events that focus around this time of the year. Overwatch is no exception, as Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced the return of the Winter Wonderland event.

Taking to Twitter, the official Overwatch account shared a teaser of things to come. We’re sure to see plenty of transformations to maps that show what time of year it is, with snow and festive lights bound to litter certain areas. In addition to this, we can expect the return of fan-favorite skins (some of us haven’t stopped using Zenyatta’s Nutcracker skin), the debut of new ones, various game modes, and more.

We see your crafty pun work, Blizzard. Did Papa Kaplan put you up to this? Either way, if you are out of the loop on what to expect, here’s what last year’s Winter Wonderland was all about:

“Overwatch is getting into the holiday spirit again for the next three weeks! Expand your collection of seasonal-themed items, and enjoy two winter brawls.

This year, we’re celebrating with a new brawl: Yeti Hunter, as well as bringing back Mei’s Snowball Offensive. We’ve decked the halls of Black Forest, King’s Row, and Hanamura. But we know what you really want: presents! Unlock over 50 new seasonal items—including legendary skins like Snow Owl Ana, Rime Sombra, Beachrat Junkrat, and Ice Fisherman Roadhog—alongside winter gear from last year at reduced credit costs.”

We’ll find out what’s new and what is returning when the Overwatch Winter Wonderland event kicks off on December 11th. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
