Overwatch’s Jeff Kaplan Confirms Future Hero Mauga (VIDEO)

Overwatch

Overwatch’s latest hero is gravity-defying tank that brings the pain in the form of all sorts of interesting things. Sigma is currently kicking around on the Public Test Realm along with the new matchmaking mechanic, but now that we know who hero 31 is, it’s time to look forward to who 32 might be, and director Jeff Kaplan may have already revealed them.

During a recent livestream, Kaplan discussed both Sigma and Mauga. Originally, Mauga was meant to be the new tank hero, but as the lore began to develop and they gave the character his abilities, they realized it was more along the lines of who Sigma is. Mauga, on the other hand, is meant to be more of a loose cannon than a calculate individual. Think more along the lines of Junkrat, but much bigger.

As can be seen in the video, YouTuber “Your Overwatch” discusses the livestream with Seagull and Kaplan where they talked about both Sigma and Mauga. Kaplan did confirm that Mauga is still in the works and will be coming in the future, although he did not say when. In addition to this, the Overwatch director mentioned that there are at least two years worth of heroes in development, including a DPS character and a healer. Either way, more heroes are on the way.

Overwatch is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
