New Resident Evil Announcement Date Revealed

The Resident Evil series has seen such an amazing resurgence in recent years, having surprised everyone with the glory that is the Resident Evil 2 remake and kept the undead streak alive with this year’s high-res retread of Resident Evil 3. With two of the most iconic entries in the mainline series fully reinvigorated for a modern generation, many are surely looking forward to whatever developer Capcom may have in store next. By the looks of a recent tease, it looks like fans may have a definitive answer sooner rather than later.

As revealed in a recent post on Twitter (via RelyOnHorror) members of the Resident Evil Ambassador Program have begun receiving a message foretelling the arrival of a special announcement. User kula_9S85, a touted Gold Class Ambassador, was one to spread the message on Twitter, teasing the reveal of something Resident Evil-related happening on June 10th, 2020.

If this message is indeed correct, this leaves just two weeks before this big unveiling takes place, but it’s hard to be sure with such a short message. With rumors of a PlayStation 5 reveal event abound as of late, many are likely to speculate the next RE game could be getting its grand debut next month. Rumors have backed up the idea of Resident Evil 8 for months now, with details such as the return of first-person perspective from RE7, the inclusion of wild Medieval werewolves, and even a starring role for series protagonist Chris Redfield. We’ll have to wait to know if all this ends up correct, but the presence of this mysterious announcement may make the wait shorter rather than longer.
