New Overwatch Map Announced By Blizzard (VIDEO)

Blizzard announces a brand new Overwatch map heading to the game and it’s set in South Korea, home to the beloved mech-operating teenager, D.Va. Set in Busan, players will experience the latest control map in rotation with three separate stages. There’s a lot to love in the new map including hallmarks of mainstream South Korean culture and that includes a 24-hour PC gaming café, adorable mascots, high-tech visuals, and a dope soundtrack to boot. Better yet, it goes live on PTR today! Check out all the fine details in the video below before heading in:

Travel to Busan, South Korea and battle for control across three distinct locales within one map: Sanctuary, Downtown, and MEKA Base. Explore the serene setting of the Sanctuary, surrounded by an ancient temple, beautiful gardens, and historic architecture. Clash in the bustling metropolis of Downtown, where players will fight across a busy PC bang, flashy karaoke bar, and central light rail station (just watch out for the train).

“Contest for position in MEKA Base—home of South Korea’s frontline defense against the gwishin omnic attacks: D.Va and the rest of the MEKA squad. Teams must fight to hold each of the three stages to establish complete control of the city that refuses to surrender its way of life to any threat.”

In the Overwatch universe, Busan is home to MEKA – the Mobile Exo-force of the Korean Army – a division created to fight off the forces of Omnic uprising. Recruited for her renown gaming skills, D.Va was granted a tanky, weaponized mech suit to control as an agent of the army. Along with her sassy attitude, adorable looks, and top-tier skills – she’s a proud icon of Busan. Well, in the Overwatch world anyway. For the cinephiles out there, there’s even a “train to Busan,” but there won’t be any zombies and a heart-breaking story arc. Instead, there will be good ‘ol competitive gameplay! The map looks phenomenal, upbeat, and probably a ton of fun to destroy enemy teams on!

To test out the Busan map for yourself, make sure to log-in to the Public Test Region and witness it in all its glory. Based on the video above, what are your thoughts on the new South Korean map?
