New Kingdom Hearts 3 Trailer Confirms Monsters Inc. World (VIDEO)

Kingdom Hearts 3 has been severely lacking in official information as of late, with only rumors and hints providing any amount of news regarding the anticipated release. The last official word we heard, a beautifully recreated Toy Story world had been revealed, filling fans with unending waves of nostalgia and hype. Silence has finally been broken with an all new Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer, providing a great look at a few of the game’s various worlds, including one based on Disney Pixar’s Monster’s Inc.

Thanks to the latest D23 Expo in Japan, some spectacular new Kingdom Hearts 3 footage has now been released, showing off the Sora, Donald, and Goofy and their newest adventure. The new trailer features the trio roaming the land of Toy Story, scaring up trouble in Monster’s Inc‘s door warehouse, and battling enemies in the world of Tangled. The cameos don’t stop their either as The Little Mermaid‘s Ariel also makes an appearance in the video as a summon. Check it out below.

As with past games, the Kingdom Hearts crew sport appropriate looks when emerging in the new worlds, with the party members taking on monster and toy appearances in addition to their normal attire. The great amount of fan service on display is quite the spectacle and it would be interesting if Square Enix were able to bring back each character’s voice actor to reprise their original animated roles. Monsters Inc‘s Mike and Sully definitely wouldn’t be the same without John Goodman and Billy Crystal.

Though there was recent speculation on the contrary, the new Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer did not provide an official release date. That big of an announcement is likely being saved for the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo, where the game has been confirmed to make an appearance. Perhaps then fans will get the details they’ve been waiting for. Kingdom Hearts will 3 release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
