New Half-Life Game Officially Confirmed, Full Reveal Coming Soon
The Half-Life series (and publisher Valve in general) haven’t had a new game come out in a while, but rumors have suggested otherwise for months–the latest being a new VR title by the name of ‘Half-Life: Alyx.’ While a supposed leak recently offered intriguing details about the game’s potential announcement, it appears Valve has gone ahead and confirmed the news themselves in a new post to social media.
Announced over Twitter, Half-Life: Alyx was confirmed as an upcoming “flagship” Steam VR game from in-house development studio Valve Software. While little else was revealed about the immersive project, more information was confirmed to be included during a formal unveiling event happening later this week on Thursday, November 21st.
We’re excited to unveil Half-Life: Alyx, our flagship VR game, this Thursday at 10am Pacific Time.

While it’s no Half-Life 3, Valve reviving one of it’s most iconic franchises after over a decade of dormancy is still undoubtedly a big deal. Outside a presence of virtual reality and the presumed involvement of series character Alyx Vance, there’s very little one can surmise about this mysterious project. Luckily there won’t be a very long wait before official details are out there, so here’s hoping the VR project can deliver on the series’ signature goods.
