Mortal Kombat 11 DLC Announcement Teased for Next Week (VIDEO)
Hyped up even before the release of Mortal Kombat 11, a number of extra fighters are planned to get their due as post-launch DLC, further expanding on NetherRealm’s already-impressive character roster. Though the exact content and quantity of these incoming kontenders have yet to be confirmed, fans were already presented with one inclusion in the form of Shang Tsung, portrayed by the original film’s actor no less!
Following the game’s successful release last month, the stage seems set for Mortal Kombat 11 to finally begin doling out DLC, with NetherRealm creative director Ed Boon hinting as much over social media. Posting to Twitter, Boon suggested that fans keep their “fingers krossed” for the coming week, as NetherRealm could finally divulge these new additions “if all goes well.” The tweet was punctuated by an animated GIF of a familiar soul-stealing sorcerer.

Though no DLC members have yet to officially reveal themselves, Mortal Kombat fans have nonetheless made it their mission to find out. Crafty players have managed to discover as many as 19 characters could be hiding as Mortal Kombat 11 DLC, fueling speculation regarding who could make up this monster roster. Mileena has been one of the more popular favorites that fans want introduced, as is the ridiculous Scooby-Doo character Shaggy, despite NetherRealm’s “dekonfirmation” of the latter many months ago.
Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One.
