Mojang Studios latest update brought tons of exciting news to the Minecraft community. They shared information on the upcoming Howling Peaks DLC  and incoming crossplay capabilities for Minecraft Dungeons, costumes inspired by said franchise in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and more. Of course, they didn’t forget about the original game that started it all – Minecraft.

Following the installment of the highly-anticipated Nether Update, the Mojang Studios team revealed another major update called Caves and Cliffs. Coming next Summer, the Caves and Cliffs update adds a variety of environmental diversity to the world of Minecraft. It brings improved cave generation, lush caves, dripstone caves, new archeology system, and so much more. To see what else the update will bring, check out timestamps 31:30 and 1:52:21:

The Caves and Cliffs update will introduce new resources such as crystal and copper, so players can craft items like a telescope. Be warned, these geodes are rare. So rare, in fact, that developer Agnes Larsson and team wanted players the discovery of these rare geodes to be a “magical” experience. Additionally, the Summer update means mountains as well, which is a special feature that the Minecraft community voted for in 2019. Oh, and there will be mobs of axolotl too. How cute is that?
