Microsoft Teases Pokémon GO-like Minecraft AR Game (VIDEO)
Pokemon GO may have seen a bit of an uneasy start but over time the augmented reality title has gained quite a steady following of players. The title is popular enough that others have tried to follow in its footsteps, with the developer of the game, Niantic Studios attempting to recreate the experience with Harry Potter style wizardry as well. Now Microsoft seems to be trying to get in on the action as well by bringing Minecraft of all things into the AR world.
A teaser was recently released by Microsoft featuring something to do with Minecraft and AR though unfortunately, the short video didn’t give a good idea as to what players can expect to be doing in the game. There appears to be a Minecraft style world superimposed on the real world, with creatures such as pigs and a bar for items similar to the standard Minecraft experience. Villagers might also take part in the experience through how exactly remains to be seen.
Thankfully, it won’t be too long of a wait to find out what the game will have to offer as the developers plan to make an official reveal on May 17th. It will be interesting to see how the developers hope to bring Minecraft into the real world with the AR tech.
