Two New Xbox One Translucent Controllers Unveiled By Microsoft
Controllers and various other gaming devices can often come in a variety of different styles and colors. In particular, Microsoft and PlayStation have shown a penchant for bringing fans a variety of flavors to choose from, with particular devices ranging from camo colorations to some themed after specific games. Soon, one of the more intriguing controller styles is set to be released, with a pair of Xbox One translucent controllers harkening back to the ’90s and the iconic style that was all the rage.
A recent post from Xbox (H/T Prima Games) details the existence and eventual arrival of two Microsoft different controller variations for the Xbox One. While both Special Edition devices share a translucent look, one looks to be an ultra-saturated purple called Phantom Magenta. The other controller shares a few similarities with many a camo style, but with an intriguing semitransparent base dubbed Arctic Camo. The Phantom Magenta controller is currently available for pre-order worldwide while the Arctic Camo variant will be available at a later date, but only in the United States.
Each Xbox One translucent controller will run fans a total of $69.99 USD and comes with the usual array of features such as custom button mapping, a 3.5mm stereo headset jack, and Bluetooth compatible with Windows 10 PCs, laptops, and mobile devices. The Arctic Camo version specifically comes with an etched trigger grip similar to previous controllers. Both can also be paired with their very own charging station matching the color scheme and style of the controllers, including a battery cover, rechargeable battery, and a 6-foot power cord for $49.99 USD.
The Phantom Magenta controller will be available on March 17th while the Arctic Camo edition will be available sometime in May.
