Metal Wolf Chaos XD Release Date Revealed With New Trailer (VIDEO)

In the land of strangely named video games, Metal Wolf Chaos has a long and storied history, originally having been released as an Xbox exclusive for Japan way back in 2004. The story follows a string of coup d’etats that occur around the United States, which ends up compelling the 37th president of the United States – Michael Wilson – into action, jumping into his weaponized battle-mech in a glorious attempt to right the wrongs of the vice-president, Richard Hawk. Now, it looks like the West can finally enjoy this crazy shooter, as Metal Wolf Chaos XD has received its official release date alongside a new trailer. Check out the trailer below:

Here’s what the game is all about courtesy of Devolver Digital:

“Metal Wolf Chaos XD is a modernized re-release of FromSoftware’s 2004 mech shooter with upgraded visual fidelity, refined controls and gameplay, a new save system, and 4K + 16:9 support for modern displays.

The country is in peril as President Michael Wilson defends the nation against a full-scale rebellion led by Vice-President Richard Hawk and the mechanized legions he commands. As the 47th President of the United States, it is your sworn duty to take your country back by any means necessary and end this unjust coup d’etat! Battle in your advanced mech – armed to the teeth – across iconic American landscapes including the Brooklyn Bridge, the Grand Canyon, and the front steps of the White House.”

Metal Wolf Chaos XD releases on August 6th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
