Mass Effect ‘N7 Day’ Design Challenge Going On Now
The Mass Effect series may be on a temporary hiatus, but that doesn’t mean its yearly ‘N7 Day’ celebration doesn’t have to inspire Commander Shepards all over the world to slap on their Omni-tools and scream “I should go” into the darkness! While BioWare has yet to reveal anything about this year’s November 7 celebration, the developer has teamed up with online retailer For Fans by Fans to create an N7 Day Design Challenge, giving fans a chance to design their own Mass Effect-inspired custom apparel, art prints, and more for the chance at winning some amazing prizes!
Revealed over on the For Fans by Fans website, the special contest charges aspiring artists with using Fan Forge to submit their Mass Effect-related fan art in celebration of N7 Day, with chosen winners receiving some exciting goodies from both BioWare and Logitech, as well as having their designs featured on the website with the potential to make commission on the sales.
The design challenge is now open, and fans can submit their entries by October 25th. Fans will be voting on their favorite designs until November 9th, with BioWare Creative Director Mac Walters acting as a guest judge. There are very few guidelines here, with the most important ones simply saying to create something original, creative, and inspired by any content within the Mass Effect Series, and that “mash-ups” or “cross-overs” are not acceptable submissions, so don’t submit a design of Commander Shepard wearing Cloud Strife’s armor (for example) expecting to win.
Those looking to submit their own design for the contest can do so right here.
So, thoughts on the N7 Day Design Challenge? Plan on voting for a few submissions, or do you plan on entering in one of your own?
