Mass Effect Legendary Edition Changes Tali Cabin Photo
Many characters in the Mass Effect franchise went through dramatic changes in their adventures with Commander Shepard. Based on player choices, some die, some go on to become leaders in their own right, and much more. The Quarian character Tali has been around for the entirety of the saga, working her way up from a pilgrimage to becoming a significant pillar among her people. Just as fans have fallen in love with the character, the trilogy also allows players to romance the character as well, with the relationship eventually culminating in a picture of the character’s unobscured face.
When Mass Effect 3 first released in 2012, the reveal wasn’t received well by many fans due to the image merely being a stock photo that was only slightly altered to fit the narrative. It seems as though the issue may have been resolved, at least a little, thanks to the recent release of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition remaster. A recent post by modder Orikon confirmed that there is indeed a change to Shepherd’s cabin photo of Tali’Zorah Vas Normandy in all her helmet-less glory. Rather than the original modified stock image, the cabin photo has now been replaced with an original design from the developers.
NEW: Tali’s cabin photo has been changed in the Legendary Edition. Thank you @macwalterslives!

The image detailing what the new face looks like was first revealed by Redditor Maxgoods and features a fully suited Tali minus the all-too-important facemask. The updated version of the character features a fairly humanoid face albeit with some all-white eyes. It might seem a little disappointing for some, considering the many pieces of fan art that depict Tali and her race as having gills, sometimes a more mouse-like appearance, or even cybernetic implants denoting the species’ reliance and skill with technology. Still, it is nice to see the various small changes that the Mass Effect Legendary Edition remaster brings whether it’s the updated maskless Tali photo or much more.
The Tali cabin photo was seen at the tail end of the third game in the trilogy, so getting there so soon may come as a surprise but it seems that downloading a save file for Mass Effect 3 that has the Tali romance completed made it possible to quickly check to see whether or not the updated version was real or not. Mass Effect Legendary Edition is currently available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 but is still compatible with next-gen consoles as well.
