This year has already been huge for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the Disney Plus show WandaVision being a huge success and The Falcon & The Winter Soldier following hot on its heels. With plenty of other content set to make an appearance either this year or the next, each is going to need to find a way to set itself apart from the other projects set in the MCU. The upcoming Loki series is definitely looking to follow that direction and a new trailer has dropped showing just how much different it’ll be from what we’ve seen before.

The upcoming Loki series is set to take place across time and space, following an alternate 2012 version of Loki who has escaped with the Tesseract, a.k.a. the Space Stone used in Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet. The series will follow this throwback version of Loki, but in doing so, he runs into trouble with the Time Variance Authority (TVA), a mysterious agency that essentially monitors the multiverse and protects various timeliness from ne’er-do-wells looking to cause trouble.

After being captured, the God of Mischief is forced to work for the TVA in order to rectify reality and is under the watchful eye of Mobius M. Mobius, played by Owen Wilson. Showing off a handful of scenes from the multi-part adventure, the new trailer shows off just a taste of the chaos that will ensue as the show progresses. It’ll be interesting to see where the series goes, but fans will have to wait just a little bit longer before they get to witness the madness for themselves.

Loki is set to arrive on June 11th for Disney Plus and will only run for 6 episodes. However, another season has already been greenlit and is currently in development.
